As part of their orientation, International Students at UMASS are given a guided bus tour of both the UMASS campus and town. Following the bus tour, the students arrive at a Welcome Reception hosted by ATCIS at the historic Amherst Woman’s Club, a Victorian mansion built in 1864.
Community leaders and residents welcome the group with refreshments and a short program. Past events have included State Representative Ellen Story, Amherst Town Manager John Musante, Director of the Chamber of Commerce Don Courtemanche, Director of Community Relations UMass/Amherst Tony Maroulis, Town Select Board Members, and President of the Rotary Club of Amherst among others.
