Meet at the Jones Library for a tour and to get your library card. Then, we will walk in small groups around downtown Amherst.

We will go to Pine Hill Orchards, 248 Greenfield Rd. in Colrain, MA. Wear old shoes. It may be wet. This is a beautiful part of MA.

Visit the newly renovated Summit House at the top of Mount Holyoke for wonderful views of the Pioneer Valley. Bring your camera!

Visit the UMASS Library and get a tour. See beautiful views from the top floor and a demonstration of a 3D printer.

Halloween is a popular holiday in the U.S. Come to Nancy Condon’s house in Belchertown to carve pumpkins for Halloween. We will be carving outside so wear warm clothes if necessary.

Come to UMASS Hampshire Dining Common for a tour and cooking demonstration of apple recipes and more. UMASS Dining Services is award-winning. Find out why! Everyone is invited to lunch after the program at the Dining Commons.
Tuesday 11/15 Thanksgiving Sampler 10 a.m.
Meet at 120 Pulpit Hill (Pioneer Valley Co-Housing Common House), Amherst, to taste many of the traditional dishes served at an American Thanksgiving . The volunteers will cook for you.

We will meet at the UMASS Police Station, 585 E. Pleasant St, Amherst, and learn about laws in the U.S. We may even get a tour of the station and jail cell.

Visit the greenhouse at the college and think spring. Go next door and tour the beautiful Art Museum.

Tuesday 3/21 Steve’s Sugar Shack – 34 North Road, Westhampton, MA.
Visit the sugar shack to have a large pancake, maple syrup, and a beverage (hot or cold), plus a full explanation of the sugaring process and either a genuine or mock boiling of sap, depending on whether they are still boiling. Getting maple sap and making syrup is very dependent on the weather, so we will not know which will happen until we get there.

Visit a volunteer’s home in small groups and sample foods using maple syrup.

Join us for a special cooking adventure at the home of Betsy McInnis, 76 Lincoln Ave., Amherst. We will all have a chance to make several snacks that have some kind of wrapper that fits around some filling to make a dish.
